Choose the appliance by output, not just the ingredient
Use a coffee grinder whose own instructions cover coffee when the goal is brewing. Nut meal and nut butter are not interchangeable outputs: butter intentionally releases oil and needs a documented nut-butter workflow. Extracting seed oil is yet another job and calls for an oil press whose instructions cover that seed.
A dry-flour mill is not made suitable by selecting a coarser setting. Likewise, a coffee or spice grinder is not automatically approved for wheat flour. For each direction, the appliance manual must name the food, preparation, batch and required parts.
Keep named permissions and broad warnings together
NutriMill Classic, Impact and Harvest each name dry soybeans among supported foods even though their current evidence restricts oily inputs more broadly. KitchenAid KGM explicitly excludes soybeans. That conflict is why a category rule such as “all beans are safe” or “all oily foods are banned” would be inaccurate across models.
Mockmill creates a different boundary. Its 100/200 manual warns against nuts, coffee and several oily seeds, yet lists settings for specific dried spices and some named seeds. Use only the exact dry item and setting named for that model; an unlisted spice or seed remains unconfirmed. The compatibility checker keeps an explicit exclusion separate from an evidence gap.

Wonder Junior Deluxe PLUS is a manual system, not another name for WonderMill Electric. Its current manufacturer page assigns stone heads to dry grains and fine flour and separately names coffee, spices, oily grains, flax and nut butter. The manufacturer’s auger page specifies the masa/nut-butter auger with stainless-steel burrs for its named jobs.
Confirm that exact PLUS model, the steel burrs, the auger and the current instructions before use. The saved Amazon record on this site is labeled as a related Deluxe offer because its title does not verify the PLUS package or auger. The manual-mill guide explains the bundle check without treating the offer as an exact match.
Treat preparation and moisture as separate checks
Roasted coffee, raw nuts, ground seed, sprouted grain and damp food do not become equivalent because each may contain oil. Verify the exact preparation as well as the ingredient name. Permission for one dry spice is not permission for a paste, and a nut-butter auger is not general wet-food approval.
If an ingredient is absent from the current documentation, ask the manufacturer before milling it. This page does not infer compatibility from a recipe video, a different brand or a similar-looking burr. It also does not rank coffee consistency, nut-butter texture or spice fineness without matched testing.
If the wrong ingredient has already entered the mill
Stop the machine and follow the exact model’s troubleshooting and cleaning instructions. Do not add water, solvent or an improvised abrasive to a dry electric chamber or stone set. A general rice-cleaning trick does not override the manual.
Use the cleaning guide to find the model-specific path. If the supplied instructions do not address the condition, contact the manufacturer rather than repeatedly restarting a clogged, glazed or abnormal mill.

Can a grain mill grind coffee beans?
Most flour mills covered here explicitly exclude coffee or do not establish permission. Wonder Junior Deluxe PLUS is the documented exception, but only with its named manual-mill setup. Otherwise use a coffee grinder whose own instructions cover the beans and brew method.
Can a grain mill make peanut butter?
Only a documented nut-butter system. The current Wonder Junior PLUS evidence names the masa/nut-butter auger used with stainless-steel burrs. That permission does not transfer to its stone heads, WonderMill Electric or another flour mill.
Can I grind flax, sesame or poppy seeds in a flour mill?
Not as a category. Covered Classic, Impact, Harvest, WonderMill Electric, KGM and Mockmill evidence excludes one or more of these oily seeds. Wonder Junior PLUS names flax and oily grains with its separate setup; verify the exact parts and current instructions.
Can Mockmill grind spices?
The cited 100/200 manual gives settings for named dried spices, while also excluding nuts, coffee and several oily seeds. Follow only the exact dry ingredient and model setting listed; do not turn that permission into a blanket spice or oilseed rule.
Can a coffee or spice grinder mill wheat flour?
Only if that exact grinder’s instructions permit the grain, batch and intended output. A coffee or spice label does not establish flour-milling permission.
