If the flour is coarser than expected
First check what output the machine documents and whether the grain and preparation are permitted. A recipe’s expectation of fine flour may differ from the manufacturer’s use of that word. We have not measured a universal fineness threshold.
Follow the model’s adjustment guidance. Do not force a control beyond its intended range or copy calibration instructions from a different family. Keep successful settings in the milling notebook with the actual grain used.
If flour escapes from the collection system
Stop and inspect assembly with the appliance unplugged. Check the bowl or canister, lid, separator, filter and connections against the diagram in the supplied manual. Confirm that the flour container was not overfilled.
A missing or damaged component may need the exact replacement part; an improvised seal is not a verified repair. Use the accessory checklist to identify what should be present.
When to stop home troubleshooting
A damaged cord, burning smell, repeated abnormal operation, unexplained overheating or suspected internal damage needs manufacturer guidance. Do not repeatedly restart a machine to see whether a persistent fault disappears.
For cleaning-related symptoms, follow model-specific care. For an older or used unit without a known history, gather its model and revision details before relying on instructions for a current product with a similar name.
